The KEH again looked spectacular at our Summer Show and my congratulations go to all concerned and on behalf of our committee, I would like to thank all the volunteers who helped put on this event. Their work is invaluable. As far as I am concerned the four highlights of the year in the Newcombe Hall are our three shows and the Christmas Social, not forgetting the wonderful social gatherings in the Jubilee Room at our Shows and Coffee Mornings.

The flower arrangements and the basket/trug exhibits were as good as ever as were the vegetables and soft fruit. The pot plants and cut flowers on display were excellent and as usual, I salivated over the cookery exhibits. The handicraft and junior classes were again inspirational.

Deborah Novotny, the Show Secretary confirmed that the numbers of exhibits were down but we have subsequently discovered that some of our regular exhibitors were away and many members agreed that the weather over recent weeks hadn't helped.
