Despite the mainly dry spell in recent weeks, the Show on 10 September was a great success and whilst I congratulate all the prize winners, the way all the exhibits were organised by the Show Secretary and her team of helpers, contributed to the overhaul effect of the Show. I don't hesitate to repeat that the Newcombe Hall looks at its best during our Flower and Produce Shows and the Autumn Show continued this tradition.

As I am somewhat physically incapacitated for a few weeks, I was instructed to sit down to sell the specially purchased Uncle Duncan Daffodil bulbs and I did not get a good look at each entry but I think the photographs displayed here will do all the 'talking' for me.

At the same time as selling the bulbs I was encouraging the buyers to plant them, nurture them and enter the results of their endeavours in the 2017 Spring Show.

It seemed to me that everyone who came to the show and, of course, all the volunteers, helped make it a special occasion. At the same time, we gardeners of what ever standard, were blessed with rain whilst enjoying the Show and a social chat over a cup of tea/coffee etc., not forgetting the homemade cakes including cream and jam on the scones which were also homemade.
