After
all the hot weather, not to mention the drought, it was surprising that
there were nearly three hundred exhibits at the Summer Show. The King
Edward Hall looked a picture as the LHS members demonstrated that it
would take more than a lack of rain to interfere with their horticultural
skills. But there was more than just horticultural skills to enjoy;
from Brian Fitzgerald’s superb delphiniums, to Lorelei Hilson’s
mouth watering strawberry tart, to Pat Pickworth’s wonderful flower
arrangements, to Tim Richardson’s fantastic vegetable collections,
via Ruby Anscombe’s very tempting fairy cakes and Andrew Harding’s
map of the river Ouse area around the village, it was all a delight
as can be seen from the accompanying photographs by Carolyn Nurse and
Tim Richardson.
